When we first met, summer of 2019, I wanted to achieve overall improved fitness without getting injured. At the time, I was still rehabbing from extensive hip surgery and attending physical therapy for chronic shoulder pain. Fortunately for me, Yaz had previously worked in a physical therapy clinic, and that experience proved invaluable for me as I slowly (by design and by my request) improved my strength and aerobic fitness. She was open and eager to work within the guidelines of my physical therapist. each session was enjoyable, as we chatted our way through it. She was full of encouragement the whole time. She really knows her stuff. As a physician, I really appreciated how much she was able to engage me. I know she had at least one other physician client, and he was very pleased with her as well . . . I hope that someday I will have the opportunity to to work with her again. She is a delight and a true gem.

I overheard the girls (Joelle and her friend) talking about your workouts on the phone and how much they are learning. I love how they support each other but they are also competitive so they push each other. I am also very happy with how it is getting easier for me with every session. I am loving how Joelle is keeping an eye on me and correcting..it makes her feel good about something she can help me with.

Since I've started training with Yaz, I can feel that I have more upper body strength. She is very knowledgeable and able to tailor to my need and make an adjustment to the weekly training based on my condition. There were times that my wrist or shoulder wasn't feeling good and she was able to help me with some exercise to ease the tightness/pain. I like training with Yaz, as she combines traditional training with yoga and physical therapy. She definitely has a passion for helping all her clients to get stronger and healthier.

Yaz and I met professionally while I was recovering from a very severe illness. I had experienced crippling back pain..neuropathic pain in my lower back. I had been in the hospital and was now in physical therapy to rebuild my back and my ability to walk. Not only did Yaz bring her incredible personal training skills to our sessions but she knew exactly how to work with me. Empathy and understanding are nearly as important as the personal training skills in these kinds of situations. I knew I had to move through my pain to do the exercise to walk again...and Yaz was there with me all the way knowing exactly when to push and when to step back. We succeeded so well that now I do my ongoing fitness training in addition to the specific back PT.
 

I train with Yaz because she knows how to balance and plan for my specific needs. She understands all of my unique characteristics to create a plan that works for me. Yaz brings a special energy to our sessions that makes it easy to understand our goals and implement them in our time together. We work and have fun all at the same time...team fitness is how it works for us.
 

You want to work with Yaz. She is smart, capable, and energized. Creating a plan for our workouts is the key to our success. We have a variety of exercises and an understanding of specific exercises that work to my particular needs. I have worked with her for almost a year and I continue to improve in my health and physical capabilities. Her personality is perfect for the individualized attention that personal training requires.
